Board member for the last 15 years.
5 Years as Vice – President
Matraville RSL Club member since 1981
I am also a Sub-Branch member.
I have spent all my life in Matraville, where I served my Fitting and Turning Apprenticeship at the old Paper Mills and spent the last 20 years of my working life as a Maintenance Supervisor at ICI.
My trade and my maintenance experience have been invaluable to the Club in assisting with the daily maintenance of the Club on a voluntary basis.
I have gained a lot of interesting and valuable knowledge through attending courses pertaining to the appropriate operations of a club this size.
A significant achievement for me in recent times was the 4 years association with SOCOG as a volunteer for the Sydney Olympics and was part of the around Australia Torch Relay where I drove a support vehicle. I was also given the honour of running with the Olympic Torch in Adelaide.
I also volunteer to drive the Club bus when required for the local schools, Intra Clubs, and charities.
I am willing and keen to serve the club for another year
